At the start, there is creation ...
Creation in music, creation in materials, clay, costume jewelry ...
From an early age, ideas have no limits.
Then come studies. With passion, always, I obtain a master's degree in psychology. Without knowing it, the educational side will serve me a few years later.
And then there is this magical moment ... I become a mother of twins ...
When it's time for them to blow out their first candle, I bake my first decorated cake. This discipline quickly becomes a real passion. I then take many courses to train myself and obtain my French pastry diploma.
My passion keeps growing until it finally becomes my job.
Competitions are entering, in France, in the UK. I won many medals with 3 "Gold Award" at the CAKE INTERNATIONAL of BIRMINGHAM including a prestigious second place badge.
My work is recognized and this is how I become an Ambassador of the famous brand of cake design "Saracino" but also "Top 10 Cake Artist 2018" of Cake Masters magazine.
It is now with me that many people come to train during modeling and cake design workshops online, in France but also internationally.
At the beginning, there is the creation… On the way we meet the sweetness and the poetry which define my refined style. I am Claire DS, trainer in modeling and pastry chef in cake design.

The Mechanical Fairy
"The Mechanical Fairy" was born out of an invitation, to a great collaboration of international cake designers, to celebrate "steampunk" day.
I worked on that theme, featuring a fairy with mechanical wings, a bodice outfit with curls, and her hair tied in a ponytail in a turquoise blue to match those eyes.
It sits on a 2-tier cake completely hand painted and embellished with gears in all the colors of metals.
I loved making this technical piece with great finesse. I took the time to make it, then, to be able to add lots of details and material effects with paint and powder.
Being part of an artist collaboration is an exercise that takes me out of my comfort zone, with an imposed theme and a deadline to respect, it allows me to try, to try new techniques to go even further in the sugar art.

After having sketched all summer, I came home buying a sketchbook and some grease pencils and a red watercolor. A few strokes of the pencil later, “the Sad Clown” was born. My daughters asked me if I was going to mold her. I had never worked in this direction.
For the realization of a custom cake, I made several sketches, to submit the quote to my clients, but it was only a quick and simple sketch with a few arrows to explain the details and the composition .
This time, it was a more accomplished drawing with an emotion, a depth, more artistic.
When I launched into its sugar realization, I was so blown away that I couldn't stop myself.
In just 4 short hours, she was there, in front of me, with her sad yet so mysterious gaze.
After being acclaimed, she did a workshop tour and also a live online course ...
